John Deere Classic Information

The John Deere Classic first took place in 1971 and the following three years the tournament was played at Crow Valley Country Club in Davenport, Iowa. After that the John Deere Classic moved to Oakwood Country Club, where it was held from 1975 to 1999. In 2000 it has been played at the renowned TPC at Deere Run in Silvis.

The tournament has been allowed by the PGA TOUR to remain an annual tour stop through 2010. After the tournament sponsors have been shuffled, there is a possibility that the John Deere Classic could move its date. In case the usual date (that is one week before the British Open) is replaced by another one, the John Deere Classic may try to attract even stronger fields than today.
