The end of the regular season of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball brings about a much waited event, the Conference USA Men's Basketball Tournament. The Conference USA Men's Basketball Tournament is now held at Memphis every year after the re-aligning of the conferences. The Conference USA Men's Basketball Tournament is a post season event and is sometimes also referred to as the ‘Memphis International'.
The conference tournament is held at the end of the regular basketball college season. This conference is to decide the champions among the various teams. Winners of the conference get an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament that is held every year. The Conference USA Men's Basketball Tournament has 12 teams. These teams compete at the college level basketball championships.
The teams competing in the Conference USA Men's Basketball Tournament are Central Florida, East Carolina, Houston, Marshall, Memphis, SMU, Rice, Southern Miss, Tulane, UAB, Tulsa and UTEP. The current commissioner of the Conference USA Men's Basketball Tournament is Britton Banowsky. The teams compete at the conference not only for their winning bids but also to get an automatic bid for the NCAA basketball championships. The games are shown live on television on different sport channels showing different games at times. At the top of the college winning list is Memphis which has about 12 conference titles won. Houston comes next in the all time winners list and they are followed by UAB.
