The Jordan All-American Classic is an annual event that was formed six years ago. It is a yearly game in New York City that features nothing but the very best basketball action from the nation's best high school senior basketball players. This star-studded sports event is the creation of Jordan Classic, which is a division of Nike, Incorporated, makers of sport kits and accessories. In addition, the Jordan Brand International Tour goes to Europe to search for twelve players who will compete against each other in the inaugural International Game.
The 2008 Jordan All-American Classic will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The date for this year's event will be Saturday, April 19 at 9:00 pm Eastern Standard Time and will also be sponsored by Foot Locker and Boost Mobile. The selection of the Jordan All-American team was officially announced on February 21 2008 and in addition to the 21 high school senior basketball players selected from across America, there will be Tyreke Evans, Brandon Jennings, and Samardo Samuels who will be headlining the show.
The 2007 Jordan All-American Classic edition produced a co-MVP team, two players that were the highlight of the event. The two individuals who did highlight the occasion were Dante Greene of Syracuse along with Corey Fisher of Villanova. These two young men were the top freshmen players of the year.. Greene made 12 points and recorded 10 assists which helped his team to victory and Fisher got 20 points in only 17 minutes.
