History of the Kentucky Derby Eve Party

The Kentucky derby is the most famous and acclaimed entertaining event of the Kentucky derby. The eve party was instituted and organized by Joyce Jennings and was made a part of the Kentucky Derby events in 1995.

Ms. Jennings is the president of JKJ, Inc and has spent over 25 years organizing gala events and planning parties with a view to raising funds for charity. About thirteen years ago, Jennings saw a need to include or introduce such a festivity into the derby race events. Her aim was to organize something suitable for corporate entertainment. She eventually created a fancy event, with lots of sumptuous food and drinks, expensive décor and great entertainment all set upon an elegant posh background. The Kentucky derby eve party was an instant success from the start and has been playing host to top corporate dignitaries from all over the world. It has become an opportunity to host many of the important visitors to the events and many companies seize the opportunity to impress and entertain guest. Individuals and companies can make a reservation in advance. Last year in 2007, a table was reserved for $3,000 while individuals reserved a seat at $300 a person.

The event has also been a way to support charitable organizations. The last year's Kentucky Derby eve gala party was to support the American lung Association of Kentucky which caters for children with asthma (one of the most common disease affecting young children). It was the 10th derby party organized to support that particular charity organization.
