Like that of its sister race, the Kentucky Derby, the Kentucky Oaks will celebrate its 140th year in 2014. The highly anticipated Friday afternoon race is set for May 2 at historic Churchill Downs in Louisville, and will once again showcase the top three-year-old Thoroughbred fillies. A total purse of $1 million is at stake, with the winner taking home $600k and the traditional garland known as "Lillies for the Fillies."
