About the San Antonio Rampage

San Antonio Rampage are an ice hockey team based in San Antonio, Texas and play professional hockey in the prestigious AHL (American Hockey league). They are placed in the Western Conference, West division of the AHL (American Hockey League). The team was founded in 2002 and has their home games arena located at the AT&T center.

In partnership with the Florida Panthers, the San Antonio Spurs brought the new team to San Antonio. The new team was initially named “Stampede” but another party was already bearing the name at that time, and a new name ‘Rampage' was given to the team.

In 2005,The Spurs bought over the team from the Florida Panthers and the team came out with a new look, changing their colors to silver and black which was the color used by another sport teams owned by the Spurs. The team's current logo is a bull on rampage. In 2007, the general Manager Lawrence Gilman was fired and replaced by TBD and presently the team is coached by Greg Ireland. Between 2002 and 2007, the team played 400 games and won 148, they lost 208 games and tied 19. Their highest record has been scoring 33 goals in a single season in 2006.
