If Andre Agassi Found the Tennis Channel Open Worth His Time, So Do I

You can now try to get your ticket for the 2008 Tennis Channel Open which will be held from March 3 to March 9 in Las Vegas, Nevada at The Amanda & Stacy Darling Memorial Tennis Center. The tournament will be held at outdoor lighted hardcourts. You can expect action for the tennis match you bought a ticket for to be very intense because players will be angling to snare the prize money organizers will be awarding at the end.

Unfortunately, even ticket holders have to abide by the strict security rules for this tournament which mean no food and drink will be permitted when you reach the event entrance, small purses and bags are the only items you may carry with you (aside from necessary medical or childcare items for affected ticket holders), and you will be searched by security personnel before being permitted entry. All ticket holders are also requested not to bring along video cameras, strollers, coolers (even the smallest ones are banned), big bags, and cameras fitted with interchangeable lenses.

It was only in 2007 that the Tennis Channel Open started being held in Las Vegas. For the first nineteen years that this men's tennis tournament was held, games were hosted in Scottsdale, Arizona. The first champion of the Tennis Channel Open was John McEnroe back in 1986. Andre Agassi has won the Tennis Channel Open four times total. The 2007 winner was Lleyton Hewitt.

The ticket outlets where you can buy your Tennis Channel Open ticket are the UNLV Thomas & Mack Center, Galleria Mall, Fiesta Properties, and the Station Casinos. Ticket buyers may be overjoyed to find that 2007 champion Lleyton Hewitt has committed to play again this year at this tourney. There are three types of seats you can choose to buy a ticket for: the reserve bleacher seats, the bench-style stadium seats, and Grand Slam seats. There are day matches and evening matches though sessions may have varying time of play length. You can enter the match site one hour before any matches start. The Qualifying matches are held for free so you do not need a ticket to get in for those matches. Be advised that all cellular phones have to be turned off during the match, to avoid distracting the players.

Organizers expect the 2008 Tennis Channel Open to be watched by an estimated 45,000 people for the two weeks that matches will be held. This ATP men's professional tennis tourney may soon find itself in good company since organizers are planning other types of tournaments to be held too, to complement the Tennis Channel Open.
