USA Wrestling was initially known as the United States Wrestling Assocition and as well as the United States Wrestling Federation. It is an association which at present governs the Greco-Roman wrestling and freestyle wrestling in the US.USA Judo is a NGO (non profit organization), where the association is handled by a team of six personnel. It is conceded out at the USA Judo National Office, located in Colorado Springs, at the US Olympic Training Center at Colorado.

USA Wrestling is a spokesperson to the FILA (International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles) and also to the USOC (United States Olympic Committee), and is measured as the national governing body of the game. It was formed in the year 1983, but was formerly founded as the United States Wrestling Federation in the year 1968. In the USA, only higher-ranking judo players (age 16 and above) are permitted to get dan levels which is shown by the black belt. The USJA and the USJF recognizes the dan grades, which is presented by some different association.
