Bob Saget Tickets

Robert Lane “Bob” Saget was born on May 17, 1956. He a known stand-up comedian, actor, producer, writer, director, and game show host. He is mostly familiar for his family-friendly role in Full House as Danny Tanner, where he starred from 1987 until 1995. He was also a host for America's Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997. Saget was born in Philadelphia, and then his family moved to Virginia when he was two. He went to Rockbridge Country High School but eventually moved back to Philadelphia and finished high school there. He wanted to be a doctor but his English teacher encouraged him to pursue a career in films.

Saget then went to enroll in Temple University's film school. There, he filmed Through Adam's Eyes, a film about a boy who went through reconstructive facial surgery. His film received an award of merit from the Student Academy Awards. Saget was later introduced to stand-up comedy, and soon he was doing national tours as a stand-up comic. In 1987, he co-hosted and wrote and produced content for CBS's Morning Program. After six months, though, he left the show because of low ratings. Saget presently hosts NBC's game show called 1 vs. 100. The show started on October 13, 2006. He is also the narrator in CBS's sitcom How I Met Your Mother, which started airing on September 19, 2005. Saget also starred in an HBO comedy special entitled That Ain't Right.

He now appears in the Broadway musical called The Drowsy Chaperone, where he signed a 4-month contract to play the “Man in Chair” while Jonathan Crombie is on the musical's national tour. Saget's other works include directing the ABC television movie For Hope in 1996. The movie was based on the life story of his sister Gay who suffered and eventually died from scleroderma. Saget also wrote and directed for Face of the Penguins, in which he also stars. Saget is presently commissioner of the Pennsylvania-based independent wrestling promotion, CHIKARA. He is also a board member of the Scleroderma Research Foundation.
