Lion King Background Information

The story tells of Simba, a young and mischievous lion cub forced into hiding after his father Mufasa is murdered by his Uncle Scar. Taken in by a hilarious warthog named Pumba and meerkat Timon, Simba grows up and goes back to avenge his father’s death and take his claim as King.

The Lion King musical is extremely elaborate in all aspects of the show. The stage is always full of bright colors and quantities of people as the chorus is visible in the production. There are also complicated dance numbers and many of the costumes are controlled with tools such as mechanical headpieces and stilts.
