Alec Baldwin to Star in Orphans
Broadway will house Emmy winner Alec Baldwin come spring when he takes to the stage for Orphans, which will begin previews on March 19 before opening on April 7 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in New York. With his hit TV show, 30 Rock, all wrapped up, Baldwin will use his free time to perform in his first Broadway play since 2004’s The Twentieth Century, while his turn in 1992’s A Streetcar Named Desire earned him a Tony nomination. Shia LaBeouf was set to make his Broadway debut in the production, but dropped out in February due to "creative differences."
Orphans first premiered back in 1983 at Los Angeles’ Matrix Theatre, and has produced several productions since then, but this year’s installment will be a first for the play on Broadway. Esteemed Tony-winning director Daniel Sullivan will helm the production. The run is limited so don’t delay in purchasing 2013 Orphans tickets from Vivid Seats.
