The Book Of Mormon News

The Book of Mormon Continues Breaking Records in 2013

The Book of Mormon is continuing to make waves with its extraordinary success on Broadway at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre in New York, and now, the nine-time Tony Award-winning musical is rousing new crowds across North America in record-breaking fashion. Already this year, The Book of Mormon has set house records for ticket sales at the Des Moines Civic Center in Iowa, the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis, and the Paramount Theatre in Seattle. The show is scheduled to open at more venues later in the year such as the Fisher Theatre in Detroit (March 12-24), the Benedum Center in Pittsburgh (March 26-April 7), the Boston Opera House (April 9-28), and the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto (April 30-June 9).

The hilarious romp details the comedy that ensues when two Mormon missionaries travel to a destitute Ugandan village that’s ruled by a savage warlord. A Tony winner for Best Musical, the production also features book, music, and lyrics by award winners, Matt Stone and Trey Parker (South Park), and Robert Lopez (Avenue Q). The show will continue its Broadway run at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre, while long-term, replica productions are being held at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London and the Bank of America Theatre in Chicago. The Book of Mormon tickets are on sale now, so come see the show that’s been hailed as one of the best in history.

The Book of Mormon Tickets In Demand From Broadway to Denver

A clear indicator of the public's appeal for seats at the acclaimed musical satire, The Book of Mormon, tickets quickly sold out the show's three week engagement at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver, Colorado. The Book of Mormon's Denver production will be a homecoming of sorts for the musical's creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker (of South Park fame). Meanwhile, Book of Mormon Broadway tickets are still in extremely high-demand in the Big Apple. Presently, the Tony Award Best Musical winner has dates in the books at the Eugene O'Neil Theatre through all of 2012 and January of 2013. There are also productions debuting this year in Chicago and Los Angeles.

2011 Book of Mormon Shows Keep Audiences Laughing

Through their hit TV show South Park and acclaimed movie Team America: World Police, Trey Parker and Matt Stone have proven to be adept at using songs to tell their jokes. The duo is taking things a step further in 2011. The Book of Mormon is a religious satire that tells the story of two Mormon missionaries sent to Uganda to spread the word of their faith. The play's two essential characters, Elder Cunningham and Elder Price, are an odd couple of the highest order, and hilarity ensues when the duo improvises on the teachings of the religion. With Andrew Rannells and Josh Gad headlining a rising young cast, The Book of Mormon has been the target of praise from every corner.  At Vivid Seats, you can get 2011 The Book of Mormon tickets when the show plays on Broadway through the year. With Vogue Magazine already proclaiming this as "possibly the funniest musical ever,"  it appears that Stone and Parker have put together a smash hit. For more information on the show, check out the duo's recent appearance on the Late Night with David Letterman.
