Comerica Park is home to the Detroit Tigers. It became home to the Tigers in 2000, replacing the historic Tiger Stadium. Next door to Comerica Park is Ford Field, which is home to the Detroit Lions. Groundbreaking for Comerica Park started on October 29th, 1997 and the stadium was opened on April 11th, 2000. It took $300 million and 30 months to complete the construction. The name of the stadium has come from Comerica Bank which is its main sponsor. The stadium has an overall seating capacity of 41,782.

The first playoff game at Comerica was played against the New York Yankees on October 6, 2006. A specialty of the stadium is that whenever the Tigers score a run, the sound of a growling tiger is played. A Monument Park is situated in the deep center field stand which has statues of famous Tigers like Al Kaline, Hank Greenberg and Willie Horton. Comerica Park hosted the 76th annual MLB All-Star Game in 2005. Comerica Park is also one of the most famous parks for concerts. Famous music persons including Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Eminem, Street Band and Bon Jovi have all performed here.
