FedEx Field, formerly known as Jack Kent Cooke Stadium, is located in Landover, Maryland. It is the home of the Washington Redskins. It holds the honor of being the largest stadium among all other National Football League stadiums. It can seat 91,704 fans at a time and also has 280 luxury suites and 15,044 club seats.
In 1999, the stadium passed hands and the naming rights were sold to Federal Express, giving the stadium its present name. The distinctive feature of this field is the three tiers of red and yellow seats that circle the entire playing field. Another unique feature of this stadium is the Redskins Hall of Fame and the Redskins Ring of Fame that circles all the way around the seating bowl on the upper level balcony, displaying the names of 41 of the greatest Redskins players and coaches. It also plays host to several entertainment events, including many big-name concerts.
In 1999, $35 million was spent on improvements followed by an additional $20 million for the 2000 season. The new amenities include a new club suite, escalators and new seats. There are several restaurants overlooking the field as well.
