Ford Field is home to the Detroit Lions. The stadium was designed with its neighbor in mind, Comerica Park. The stadium began construction in 2000 and was completed in 2002. The stadium has several purposes in which it has hosted World Wrestling Entertainment, The Motor City Bowl, concerts and in 2009 it will be home to the NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four. It also is the site of tradeshows as well as conventions. The capacity for Ford Field is 65,000 for football games and nearly 80,000 for basketball games. It was built to take the place of the Pontiac Silver dome and was built warehouse style in which it is responsible for 120 events throughout the year. It is in downtown Detroit so it is a great experience for any fan to enjoy a game in the heart of the motor city.
