McAfee Coliseum Information

McAfee Coliseum is a baseball, soccer and football stadium located in Oakland, California. It is home to the Oakland Athletics and Oakland Raiders. Located on 105 acres of park land, the construction of the stadium started in 1962. It was opened on September 18th, 1966. In 1996, it was renovated at the cost of $200 million. During the renovation in 1996, 10,000 seats were added in the upper deck. McAfee Coliseum has a seating capacity of 34,077.

After Network Associates acquired the naming rights for the stadium in 1998, it was named as Network Associates Coliseum. But after the contract renewal in 2003, the named was changed to McAfee Coliseum.  Due to the narrow and steeply pitched seats, the deck has been nicknamed as Mount Davis.

The McAfee Coliseum has also hosted numerous concerts of famous music stars including U2, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. To this day it holds events of all kinds but mainly football, soccer and baseball games.
