Texas Stadium is home of the Dallas Cowboys. Although associated with Dallas, it is actually located in Irving, Texas which is a suburb of the city. This stadium opened up with its first game on October 24th, 1971 and was known since then for its artificial turf and open roof over the playing field. Although an old and historic stadium, starting in 2009 it will no longer be a part of football since the Dallas Cowboys will be moving to a newly built stadium after this season. It has a capacity to accommodate 65,675 fans.

Texas Stadium has not only been host to NFL football games, but also many other events. Unlike many other stadiums, it is common for local high school football teams to play here during the winter. In May of 2008 this stadium made Texas history by being the first in the large state to hold a Major League Lacrosse game.

Many other events have also been held at this stadium including concerts, such as the one by country singer Garth Brooks and gatherings for religious leaders and preachers, like Billy Graham. Wrestling is also no stranger to this multi-purpose stadium since many professional wrestling events have taken place here.
