ACM Awards Nominees
On April 19, the ACM Awards 2015 will be held for the first time at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Ahead of the grand 50th anniversary ceremony, on Jan. 30 the Academy of Country Music announced its 2015 nominees, giving us more than two months to speculate on who’ll be bringing home the trophies this year.
Miranda Lambert Leads ACM Awards 2015 with Eight Nominations
After cleaning up nicely at the CMA Awards 2014, Miranda Lambert once again reigns atop country music by pulling in eight nominations, the most of any artist at the ACM Awards 2015. She’s the only female nominated for Entertainer of the Year, and her 2014 album “Platinum” made her the only female artist in the running for Album of the Year. Her single “Automatic” also earned nods for Song and Single Record of the Year.
Lambert’s husband, Blake Shelton, who’ll also serve as one of the ACM Awards 2015 co-hosts, nabbed his fifth straight Male Vocalist of the Year nomination this year. Meanwhile, Shelton’s co-host, Luke Bryan, came away with four nods, including his third consecutive Entertainer of the Year nomination. Check the full list of ACM Awards 2015 nominees—including fan favorites Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, and Garth Brooks—below.
New Artist of the Year Nominees to Catch on Tour in 2015
As always, the year in country music has also brought a number of fresh faces to the forefront, and in 2015 eight of those acts are in the running for the coveted New Artist of the Year title. The list will be narrowed down to three artists by popular vote (open now on the CMT website), but all the acts have something special to offer fans on the road in 2015.
Outside of solo shows, Brett Eldredge will be touring with Darius Rucker, Thomas Rhett is joining forces with Florida Georgia Line, and Sam Hunt has been enlisted for Lady Antebellum’s summer venture. Meanwhile, Kip Moore will be on the road with Dierks Bentley, Chase Rice is teaming up with Kenny Chesney, and Cole Swindell and Tyler Farr are both booked as Jason Aldean’s opening acts. Dan and Shay have their own solo venture in the works for 2015.
If you can’t make the ACM Awards 2015 live this year, check out schedules for the Country Megaticket and nationwide country music festivals for the chance to catch your favorite acts in person this summer.
