Summerfest to Bring Red Hot Chili Peppers Outdoors During Tour
For the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Summerfest concert comes at the tail end of a lengthy North American venture that will launch in January. After a five-year absence, RHCP at last dropped a new album, “The Getaway,” back in June, which peaked at No. 1 on the US Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts.
With most of the trek taking place during the winter and spring months, the Summerfest appearance marks one of the few opportunities to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers perform outdoors in 2017.
Pink Possibly Set for Big Return in 2017
Similar to RHCP faithful, Pink fans also have been itching for a follow up to her 2012 multi-Platinum-selling smash hit, “The Truth About Love.” An extensive worldwide trek followed from 2013-14, but the singer has been notably absent from the tour circuit since.
While the May release of the single “Just Like Fire” for the “Alice Through the Looking Glass” soundtrack sparked rumors of an impending album from Pink, the singer has yet to confirm any details on the front. Regardless, stay tuned, as it’s likely her Summerfest gig won’t be the only live appearance in 2017.
Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers to Celebrate 40th Anniversary During Summerfest Stops
Beginning in April, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers will be celebrating their 40th anniversary with tour stops around the country, including a pair of performances in Milwaukee during Summerfest. Along with special guest Chris Stapleton, catch these must-see artists July 5 and 6 at American Family Insurance Amphitheater.
Summerfest's big Fourth of July show will go to The Chainsmokers, who are set to release their debut studio album in April.
Hip Hop Stars Added to 2017 Summerfest Lineup
Three of hip hop's biggest names are set to take the stage on July 8 at American Family Insurance Amphitheater (formerly known as American Family Insurance Amphitheater). Future, Migos and Big Sean will perform their respective hits on the mainstage. All three acts have released new albums in the last few months, and their stage shows will feature new songs as well as older favorites.
We’ll continue to update this post as more Summerfest performers are announced, so check back often! Note that access options may vary across Summerfest tickets, but typically, guests are granted access to the general ground areas at Henry Maier Festival Park.
