Austin City Limits will return for its 15th year in the fall of 2016 with two more weekends of live shows from an incredible group of musicians. The lineup, announced on May 5, highlights many of the most exciting acts of 2016, including the returns of Radiohead and LCD Soundsystem. Other headliners include rap great Kendrick Lamar, British folk rock outfit Mumford and Sons, and EDM titans Kygo, Major Lazer, and The Chainsmokers.
This year’s festival is scheduled for the weekends of Sept. 30-Oct. 2 and Oct. 7-9 at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas. See the full ACL lineup and learn how to buy tickets for 2016 at the bottom of the page.
Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem Prepare New Music Ahead of ACL 2016
While the appearance of Radiohead and the reunited LCD Soundsystem on the lineup is enough to get fans of both bands excited, there’s been further confirmation that both groups will be dropping new music in 2016. LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy has indicated the dance-punk outfit is working on releasing a new full-length album sometime in the year ahead. It will be the group’s first new album in five years.
Meanwhile, Radiohead released a video for the new single “Burn the Witch” on May 4. The track is the lead single off the band’s yet untitled ninth studio album, which is reportedly due for a 2016 release. The album will be the first follow-up to 2011’s “The King of Limbs.”
Adding to the excitement of new music from these longtime favorites is the long list of new acts coming to ACL 2016. Rounding out the lineup are soul acts Andra Day and St. Paul and the Broken Bones, alt-rock groups Wild Belle and The Wombats, hip-hop solo star Lizzo, and celebrated country singer Margo Price, among many, many more.
