New David Gilmour Tour to Support First New Album in Nine Years
The upcoming David Gilmour tour kicked off internationally in Sept. 2015, just six days before the release of Gilmour’s new album, “Rattle That Lock.” The new record dropped on Sept. 18 with 10 new songs from the Pink Floyd legend. Most of the songs on "Rattle That Lock" were written by either Gilmour or his wife, Polly Samson, who also co-wrote several tracks on Gilmour’s 2006 album, “On an Island.” The forthcoming album “Rattle That Lock” was also co-produced by Gilmour and Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera.

It’s unclear whether or not more shows will be added to the David Gilmour tour in North America, but considering it’s highly likely there are more concerts in the works. Last fall, Gilmour did reveal to Rolling Stone that he wants this trek to be a more laid-back “old man’s tour,” so it makes sense he’s starting small with the early announcements.
