Demi Lovato Proposal Latest in Ultimate Fan Concert Experiences

October 14, 2014 by Alyssa

Fan Experience

Demi Lovato may have gotten engaged over the weekend, but the wedding won’t be legal for at least another decade. That’s because her suitor, who proposed at one of the concerts on her Demi World Tour, was attending the show with his family to celebrate his fifth birthday.

On Oct. 11 in Moline, Ill., five-year-old Demi Lovato superfan Grant surprised the VMA Award winner with a sign that read “I Have a Ring for You” while his family looked on with a homemade engagement ring. Plenty of fans caught the whole adorable Demi Lovato proposal on video.

With social media, it’s been easy for us all to keep tabs on more of these incredible ultimate fan experiences. Taylor Swift has been one of the most famous celebrities to engage with her fans in and out of the concert setting. This spring, she even surprised one Ohio fan by attending her bridal shower out of the blue.

In addition to treating her fans off-stage to Chipotle, dating advice, and more, Swift also recently held a secret listening session for 89 fans at her home in Rhode Island to showcase all the new songs from her album 1989, which is due out on Oct. 27.

Outside the realm of pop, many other artists this year have been putting their fans in the spotlight. On the most recent solo Jack White tour in support of his album Lazaretto, the esteemed guitarist has invited fans in several cities on stage to help him perform one of The White Stripes’ most famous songs, “Seven Nation Army.” Watch a set from the Chicago stop below.

In January, Jay Z brought a young fan on stage at a North Carolina stop on the Magna Carter Tour to rap his verse from the Kanye West song, “Clique.” Just months earlier, wife Beyoncé jumped in on a concert selfie with an Australian fan that also went viral, solidifying the first couple of pop’s high standing with fans.

When your favorite artist goes on the road, know that the Vivid Seats marketplace offers many meet-and-greet passes to let you get some personal time, and perhaps even a photo, with a specific musician before the concert begins. For example, fans can meet Mick Fleetwood at many upcoming dates of the Fleetwood Mac tour, and Ariana Grande will be doing meet and greets with fans at several stops on her 2015 world tour. Look for options for other artists like Luke Bryan, Usher, and more available now.
