Top Movies and Concerts

Country music acts dominated the drive-in concert scene, while animated films—and Hamilton—were popular movie streaming options at home.

Vivid Seats teamed up with Fandom, the fan-trusted source in entertainment, to explore trends in music and movies during the COVID-19 pandemic. The data ranges from March 2020 - December 2020 and is based on Vivid Seats sales data as well as Fandom site traffic data.

Garth Brooks led the way on the music front; his drive-in concert performance was one of the single biggest live entertainment events in the summer and the most popular show in 12 states (His drive-in concert was broadcast at hundreds of theaters across the country.) Kane Brown and Brad Paisley were other notable country drive-in concerts; Metallica also enjoyed a prodigous summer performance.

Among movies, animated films were particularly popular, with releases like Ben 10 Versus the Universe, Adventure Time: Distant Lands and The Croods: A New Age all enjoyed large streaming audiences, as did Mulan (the remake of a 1998 animated Disney film). Overall, Hamilton was the top-streamed program.
