Fleetwood Mac Tour
For the first time since 1998, singer-songwriter and keyboardist Christine McVie will tour as a member of Fleetwood Mac for a full-length reunion 16 years in the making. Christine, along with Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingam, and John McVie, took to NBC’s “Today” Show on March 27 to formally announce the big news.
Though the 2014 North American venture, dubbed the On With The Show Tour, will not technically be the first time Christine has performed with the group since her abrupt departure, it will, however, mark her first time on the road with Fleetwood Mac since The Dance Tour in 1998. Prior to the official announcement, Christine had most recently resurfaced in Sept. 2013 to perform “Don’t Stop” during two nights of the band’s three-show stint at the O2 Arena in London, which only further fueled hopes that she’d one day return to Fleetwood Mac full time.
Fans will have plenty of time to begin making plans, as the forthcoming Fleetwood Mac tour is not scheduled to set sail until the fall and is expected to run from Sept. 30-Dec. 20. The 34-show trek mirrors that of the group’s 2013 Fleetwood Mac Live endeavor which also stopped at most major arenas around North America.
The first date on the docket for the 2014 On With The Show Tour is Sept. 30 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, and from there, the band will pass through the Midwest by way of Chicago on Oct. 2, and then continue on to the East Coast for shows at Madison Square Garden in New York (Oct. 6) and TD Garden in Boston (Oct. 10), among others. Several Canadian cities are set to host performances as well, including Toronto (Oct. 18), Ottawa (Oct. 26), Winnipeg (Nov. 10), Saskatoon (Nov. 12), Calgary (Nov. 14), Edmonton (Nov. 15), and Vancouver (Nov. 18). The tour is scheduled to wrap up on Dec. 20 in Tampa.
