Governors Ball 2017 Lineup
An eclectic lineup is once again in store for NYC’s Governors Ball, which for 2017 has secured a headlining trio comprised of Tool, Chance the Rapper, and Phoenix. The three-day event will return to Randall’s Island Park from June 2-4.
Notable supporting acts on the bill this summer include Lorde, Flume, Wu-Tang Clan, Wiz Khalifa, Logic, Cage the Elephant, Beach House, The Head and the Heart, Tove Lo, Phantogram, and many more.

Tool to Perform in NYC for First Time in 11 Years
While Coachella has gotten a lot of attention the last couple years for reunions and returns to the stage, Governors Ball certainly deserves some of the spotlight in New York at least. Perhaps surprisingly, Tool hasn’t performed in New York City itself since 2006, and has embarked on limited tours in ensuing years.
Phoenix also has been largely absent from the live scene in North America and their inclusion on the Governors Ball lineup was the first such announcement for 2017, though more festival appearances may come throughout the year.
Lorde also has been lying low, but before Governors Ball, she’ll be performing each Sunday of Coachella in April.
For Chance the Rapper, the headlining slot provides the rising star another major surge of momentum after a breakout year in 2016.
