Country Music Stars Abound on Houston Rodeo Lineup 2015
As in years past, the majority of the 2015 lineup will be filled by the cream of the crop in today’s country music. The festival will be bookended by two huge touring acts of last year: Eric Church is scheduled to open Houston Rodeo on March 3, and Luke Bryan will be the final headliner of the three-week event on March 22. In between, fans will be able to find a range of talent—from veteran soloists to up-and-coming groups—to see live.
Week One: After Church’s opening act, the next night will feature headliner Hunter Hayes, appearing in support of his 2014 album, Storyline. Miranda Lambert, who won four CMA Awards in the fall, is on tap for the first Thursday night show, and the weekend will close out with Alan Jackson, who’s currently celebrating his 25th anniversary on tour.
Week Two: The second week of the Houston Rodeo lineup spotlights some of the strongest male solo acts on the scene today, including relative newcomers Justin Moore and Billy Currington, as well as veterans Dierks Bentley and Tim McGraw. Zac Brown Band is also booked for the second week. The Georgia outfit is expected to put out a new album this year, and the record’s first single, “Homegrown,” is available on Spotify as of Jan. 12.
Week Three: Before Luke Bryan closes the festival on March 22, fans attending the final week will also be able to catch sets from fellow soloists Blake Shelton and Brad Paisley. Top country duo Florida Georgia Line will play hits from its 2014 album Anything Goes in the final week of Houston Rodeo, and The Band Perry (another act preparing for a new album release this year) will appear on the final Friday of the event.
Ariana Grande, Fall Out Boy Lead Alternate Genres on Houston Rodeo Lineup 2015
Five performers outside the country genre have also been tabbed for the Houston Rodeo in 2015, including Hot 100 hit-maker Ariana Grande, still riding high off her chart-topping 2014 album, My Everything. Chicago-based pop-punk group Fall Out Boy will also take the stage behind its 2015 album American Beauty/American Psycho during the rodeo’s first weekend. Finally, 2015 Golden Globe winner John Legend, rapper Pitbull, and Mexican outfit La Arrolladora Banda El Limón will round out the remaining Houston Rodeo lineup.
