Houston Rodeo 2016
The 2016 Houston Rodeo will be landing at NRG Stadium for most of the month of March, bringing with it another whirlwind schedule of the year’s leading country and pop artists. The action kicks off on March 1 with a set from The Band Perry and will carry through ‘til March 20, when Keith Urban will close the rodeo with a late afternoon concert.

Three Weeks of Country to Star Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, and Jason Aldean
Country’s biggest heavyweights will be coming out for the Houston Rodeo lineup in 2016. Mainstays Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Little Big Town, Brad Paisley, and Keith Urban have all secured headlining slots for the major Texas sporting event. At the time of the lineup announcement, Urban is the only one of that group who officially has a new album coming out in 2016. The record, titled “Ripcord,” will feature his latest single, “Break On Me.”
The Houston Rodeo 2016 lineup will also bring plenty of chances to see a slew of young, bright country stars perform live. Sibling trio The Band Perry opens the Houston Rodeo on March 1, leading a pack that includes Chris Young, Cole Swindell, Brett Eldredge, Jake Owen, and Florida Georgia Line.
Pop Staples Pitbull, Jason Derulo Round Out Houston Rodeo Lineup 2016
Just four days of Houston Rodeo 2016 will be focused on non-country artists. Rodeo favorites Pitbull and Jason Derulo are both scheduled to return for performances this March. Newcomer Shawn Mendes will also perform as part of his ShawnsFirstHeadlines Tour. His single, “Stitches,” was released last May but still sits squarely inside the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.
For this year’s Go Tejano Day, on March 13, Mexican outfits Banda Los Recoditos and Los Huracanes Del Norte will share a co-headlining set.
