If hockey can flourish in the desert of Las Vegas, there’s no telling how successful it came be in Seattle.
At least that seems to be the NHL’s thinking, as the league awarded Seattle an NHL team starting in 2021, after the league approved the Emerald City’s expansion bid:
The new NHL team will represent Seattle’s fourth major professional sports team, joining the Mariners, Seahawks and Sounders. The city was also home to the NBA’s Supersonics from 1967-2008.
What will be the name of Seattle’s NHL team? It’s too early to tell, but the Seattle Totems, Seattle Emeralds and Seattle Rainiers seem to be the most likely names of the new NHL franchise. Don’t rule out the Metropolitans either.
Seattle NHL tickets could become a hot item. In the team’s first year of existence, the Las Vegas Golden Knights became one of the premier attractions in Las Vegas, a city teeming with concerts and shows. There seems to be opportunity for Seattle’s NHL team to quickly emerge as a fan-favorite organization.
Given that Seattle is rapidly growing and home to some of the world’s most prominent businesses, NHL Seattle season tickets could go quickly when they become available. After all, the Seattle NHL season ticket drive in March was highly successful.
