On Feb. 4, Sasquatch! Music Festival—one of the most popular in the Pacific Northwest—revealed its 2014 lineup, confirming rumors that the festival would be expanding its scope to two weekends this year. This move isn’t altogether surprising, as the well-established Coachella and Austin City Limits Festivals already offer two full weekends, but Sasquatch! will break the existing two-week mold by hosting two unique lineups at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Quincy, Wash., over the weekends of Memorial Day and the Fourth of July.
Since it launched in 2002, Sasquatch! has taken place at the end of May, and this year, it will return May 23-25 with its first weekend headlined by the undisputed 2014 festival leader, OutKast (May 23), which will perform at 40 festivals this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its debut album. The Atlanta-based duo will be followed by The National (May 24), who is currently on tour supporting its 2013 album “Trouble Will Find Me.” Queens of the Stone Age, whose album “…Like Clockwork” reached the top of the Billboard 200 after its June 2013 release, will close out the first weekend as headliners on May 25.
An eclectic mix also is on tap for the remainder of the first weekend lineup, including indie darlings Cut Copy, Neko Case (May 24), and HAIM (May 25). Hip-hop will be represented via M.I.A. (May 24), Kid Cudi (May 25), and Chance the Rapper (May 23), and the festival also will spotlight established acts like the Violent Femmes alongside growing artists like Big Freedia.
Meanwhile, this year’s newly instated second weekend, taking place July 4-6, will feature an equally impressive collection of artists, starting with the main headliner, Washington’s own grunge group, Soundgarden on July 4. Attendees also will be able to see Neutral Milk Hotel and Gogol Bordello (July 4), Broken Bells and a collaborative set between Röyksopp and Robyn (July 5), and Frank Ocean and Local Natives (July 6), among many more internationally recognized artists. Iconic ‘80s band New Order also will perform on July 6, and the pioneering German electronic outfit, Kraftwerk, will bring its unique multimedia show to the stage on Saturday, July 5.
Additionally, the festival will again feature a number of comedians, including Nick Swardson, Eric André, and Maya Rudolph appearing with her Prince cover band, Princess, during the first weekend, and Demetri Martin, Eugene Mirman, and W. Kamau Bell for the second weekend.
Sasquatch! Music Festival tickets are currently on sale in the Vivid Seats marketplace, and you can choose from options for single-day and full weekend passes for events in both May and July.
