Just in time for the holidays, Record Store Day 2014 is coming back on Nov. 28 for the fourth-annual Black Friday edition. The event, launched in 2008, aims to support local, independent record stores by drawing customers in with limited release vinyl editions of both new and reissued music.

5 Seconds of Summer | Tickets
This Australian rock group’s self-titled debut album will be issued for the first time on vinyl for Record Store Day Black Friday 2014. The 12” record will be a picture disc, featuring a photo of the quartet on top of the record. The Record Store Day exclusive will also include the bonus song “Wrapped Around Your Finger.”
The Beatles | Ringo Starr Tickets
The world’s most beloved rock band will get yet another exclusive Record Store Day release this year with this “Long Tall Sally” 7”. The Beatles cover of Little Richard is especially notable, as it’s reportedly one of the first songs McCartney and Lennon bonded over upon their first meeting. Available only in very limited quantities for Black Friday 2014, this mono EP also includes the songs “I Call Your Name,” “Slow Down,” and “Matchbox.”
These New Jersey natives haven’t announced any touring plans for 2015 just yet, but you can still give the gift of their live music with the vinyl edition of Bon Jovi Live 2. This 10” record will also be a picture disc and feature the first vinyl pressings of “I’ll Be There for You (Live in Lakeland)” and “Runaway (Live in Paris)” from the group’s 1988-91 New Jersey Tour.
Chrissie Hynde | Tickets
The year 2014 brought fans the first solo album from this longtime front woman of The Pretenders, and on Record Store Day Black Friday, several live tracks from the solo debut will be available on vinyl. This six-track 10” colored vinyl was recorded live in London and includes several songs from Hynde’s Stockholm in addition to covers of The Pretenders (“Don’t Get Me Wrong”) and Morrissey (“Everyday Is Like Sunday”).
Scottish group Chvrches made waves with its acclaimed debut album, The Bones of What You Believe, in 2013, and while a sophomore album is still in the works, fans will be able to pick up the band’s new EP, Under the Tide, on Nov. 28. The 12” yellow vinyl will include five songs, including the first opportunity to get the single “Strong Hand” in a physical form in the U.S.
Dave Matthews Band | Tickets
For the first time ever, DMB’s debut EP, Recently, will be issued on vinyl for Record Store Day Black Friday 2014. The 10” EP will be sold in a double set with the rare Pumpkin Recently promo, which features several alternative tracks from the main EP. This RSD exclusive is expected to be a hot item this year, and it will only be sold exclusively in independent stores.
While music fans everywhere are still desperately hoping for a David Bowie tour announcement, we’ll have to make due with new music from the brilliant English rock star. This limited edition 10” record features two new tracks from Bowie’s 2014 compilation album, Nothing Has Changed: “Sue (Or in a Season of Crime” and “’Tis a Pity She’s a Whore.”
Diplo | Tickets
DJ Diplo’s first album, F10rida, will be getting a special vinyl reissue for its 10th anniversary in 2014. This special two-disc record will be one of the Record Store Day First Releases this year, meaning it won’t be available at any other retailers for a few weeks after Black Friday.
Disney’s Frozen | Disney On Ice: Frozen tickets
We’ve all heard “Let It Go” about a million times since Disney’s Frozen premiered last year, but this collectible picture disc release will let you hear some lesser-played tracks from the hit animated film. Exclusive to Record Store Day, this 7” includes “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” and “In Summer.” As a gift, pair this record with Disney On Ice: Frozen tickets and see the magical story come to life at an arena near you.
Ed Sheeran | Tickets
This British rock import released his sophomore album, x, earlier in 2014, and now fans can buy the record’s latest hit single, “Thinking Out Loud,” as well as its B-side, “I’m a Mess (Live from Lightship 95)” in vinyl form. This live track will only be available in physical form in the U.S. as a part of this Record Store Day release.
Green Day’s Record Store Day Black Friday release for 2014 will be Tune In, Tokyo, a 12” live recording from the band’s 2001 world tour. This features a handful of iconic tracks from the California-based punk outfit, including “Minority” and “Waiting,” all on a limited edition blue vinyl for the first time in the U.S.
Guardians of the Galaxy Soundtrack
In addition to being one of the most successful films of the summer, Guardians of the Galaxy’s amazing soundtrack of throwback gems spent two weeks as the No. 1 album in the U.S. this summer. Now you can purchase the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack as a Record Store Day First Release. In keeping with Star Lord’s preferences, Awesome Mix, Vol. 1 won’t be available on vinyl--it’s coming out exclusively on cassette tape.
Hozier | Tickets
With his hit single “Take Me to Church,” Irish rocker Hozier has taken the world by storm. His first Record Store Day exclusive release, In the Woods Somewhere, will include four tracks that didn’t make the cut for his self-titled debut that dropped earlier this year, including the title track, “Run,” “Arsonist’s Lullaby,” and the Willie Dixon cover, “My Love Will Never Die.”
Metallica | Tickets
Record Store Day was first championed by Metallica when it started six years ago, so it’s fitting this legendary metal outfit will be dropping a new 12” vinyl for the Black Friday event this year. This limited edition release includes two versions of the latest single “Lords of Summer.” The A-side will be a studio recording, while the B-side was recorded live in Rome in July.
The second volume of the Neil Young Official Release Series will be available on Nov. 28, featuring a collection of four remastered studio albums from the folk music icon. This will include the next four consecutive releases from Young’s illustrious catalog: 1973’s Time Fades Away, 1974’s On the Beach, and 1975’s Tonight’s the Night and Zuma.
Atlanta’s premier hip-hop duo spent the year impressing longtime fans at festivals around the world, and OutKast will keep the 20th anniversary celebrations going with a limited edition 10” release of its debut single, “Player’s Ball.” This record also comes on a clear green vinyl, and includes an extended version of the title track and B-sides “Ain’t No Thang” and “Crumblin’ Erb.”
St. Vincent | Tickets
Fans of indie darling St. Vincent will love this limited edition 10” Pieta, which includes two new songs from her celebrated discography: the title track and B-side “Sparrow.” All copies of this exclusive, limited edition single will be numbered, making it an especially coveted collector’s item.
