Two nights later, she’ll head up to Chicago to headline the Summer Block Party with Babyface and Ledisi (July 11). The rest of the Jill Scott tour will include stops in cities like Baltimore (July 18), Brooklyn, N.Y. (July 22), Durham, N.C. (July 30), Nashville (Aug. 5), Houston (Aug. 12), Los Angeles (Aug. 19), San Diego (Aug. 25), Las Vegas (Aug. 27), and more. She’s also been tabbed as one of the main headliners--along with Maze and Maxwell--for the Cincinnati Music Festival at Paul Brown Stadium on July 24-25.
In a February interview with Billboard, Scott told the magazine that her forthcoming album is “closer than it’s ever been,” although she didn’t say how close it was to an official release date. Her most recent album was 2011’s “The Light of the Sun,” which also marked her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.
