Margaret Cho Background Information
Margaret Cho was born “Moran Cho” in San Francisco, California in 1968 to parents that owned a bookstore and a father that wrote joke books. She attended the San Francisco School of the Arts before landing a gig opening for Jerry Seinfeld. She went on to win the American Comedy Award for "Best Female Comedian" in 1994 and thus secured a spot in the comedy spotlight. She has appeared in many television shows such as “Sex and the City”, appeared in numerous movies most recently being
One Missed Call, and has written a couple of books with her most recent release being a compilation of essays and prose about global politics entitled,
I Have Chosen to Stay and Fight.
more She has started her own fashion line of belly dancing belts entitled Hip Wear and has also taken up belly dancing as a hobby. She started a show at a restaurant in California called “The Sensuous Woman” that includes comedy, belly dancing, and burlesque.
