Anita Baker Returns to Stage to Promote New Album
After months of uncertainty, Anita Baker has officially returned to the stage to promote her forthcoming album. Baker currently has three shows set for the summer months in support of her latest full-length release, and each of the three Anita Baker concerts will take place on an outdoor stage and will feature the soulful star backed by a live band and background vocalists. On June 29, Baker can be found crooning at the Wolf Trap Farm’s Filene Center in Vienna, Va., the only U.S. National Park set aside for the performing arts. The following month, Baker will grace the Highland Park, Ill., Ravinia Festival on July 13, before moving onto the Chastain Park Amphitheatre in Atlanta on July 19.
Baker had a smattering of sold-out concerts in late 2012, including one at the legendary Hollywood Bowl, but went on a mini-hiatus over the winter. Recently performing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the R&B maven has kicked her promotional appearances back into gear. Fans will finally see her long-awaited album, Only Forever, on shelves later this year.
