Charles Edward "Charlie" Daniels is a notable musician, well known for his contributions to Country, Jazz, and Southern Rock music. Daniels is not only a talented singer, but also a professional guitarist, and fiddler. He started writing and performing in the ‘50s.

In 2005, Charlie Daniels made a cameo appearance together with Kid Rock, Larry the Cable Guy, and Hank Williams, Jr. in the video of Gretchen Wilson for the hit "All Jacked Up". The musician has also published an Open Letter to the Hollywood Bunch in defense of the US president Bush's policy in Iraq. His book entitled Ain't No Rag: Freedom, Family, and the Flag contains the mentioned letter and many other personal statements. During the 2004 presidential campaign, Charlie stated that he had never served in the military himself, and that he did not have the right to criticize John Kerry's service record.
