In 1984 Chris Isaak was signed to Warner Brothers Records and released his first album, Silvertone. Film director David Lynch used two of Isaak’s songs, “Gone Ridin’” and “Livin’ For Your Lover”, in his critically acclaimed cult classic Blue Velvet. Isaak continued to release more albums and slowly his deep voice (reminiscent of Elvis) started becoming known across the nation. Isaak claimed a national top ten single with “Wicked Game” off his Heart Shaped World album in 1989. The single was used (the instrumental version) in another David Lynch movie, Wild At Heart. Many remember the sensual black and white video for the song featuring Isaak and supermodel Helena Christensen rolling around on the beach in the sand. In 1993, yet another director, Tony Scott, used Isaak’s song “Two Hearts” for the movie True Romance written by Quentin Tarantino. In 1999 another one of Isaak’s songs, “Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing”, was used by another brilliant director- Stanley Kubrick, in his last film Eyes Wide Shut. He has released a total of 11 studio albums and has also starred in many movies including The Silence of the Lambs and Twin Peaks. Currently Chris Isaak is working in television, hosting his own shows that are still in production.
