Cross Canadian Ragweed Background Information
Cross Canadian Ragweed is an alternative country band. It consists of Cody Canada (frontman/guitarist), Randy Ragsdale (drummer), Grady Cross (rhythm guitarist), and Jeremy Plato (bassist).
The band is well known for their never-ending tours: they give over two hundred concerts each year. As their vocal support for marijuana, the song "The Boys from Oklahoma", which is entirely dedicated to it has become one of the group's most famous songs. Cross Canadian Ragweed had already received college radio airplay even before they released their first records Highway 377 and Live and Loud at the Wormy Dog (both released in 2001).
more In 2002, another record followed, Carney with Underground Sounds. Then the band switched to Smith Music Group to record Live and Loud at Billy Bob's Texas. Cross Canadian Ragweed occasionally tours with Willie Nelson.
Cross Canadian Ragweed frequently plays with Dierks Bentley, a famous country music star, Wade Bowen, "Texas Country" star Pat Green, No Justice, Stoney LaRue, Reckless Kelly, Robert Earl Keen, and others. In late 2005, Cross Canadian Ragweed released their record Garage that featured the hit "Fightin' For."
The band has just finished recording their sixth studio album. It took mostly all of March 2007 to do that. The album was apparently recorded in San Diego, CA. The record's released date is unknown now, however, is stated to be released in fall 2007.
