About the Derek Trucks Band
The Derek Trucks band is made up of Derek Trucks (guitar), Kofi Burbridge (keyboards, flute, vocals), Todd Smallie (bass, vocals), Yonrico Scott (drums, percussion, vocals), Mike Mattison (lead vocals), and Count M’Butu (percussion).
Derek Trucks is the bandleader from Jacksonville, Florida born in 1979. He is the nephew of the drummer for the legendary Allman Brothers Band. He took much of his inspiration from the Allman Brothers. He is known for his slide guitar playing skills and he has been named one of the greatest guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine.

The band was formed in 1994 and released in self-titled first album in 1997.
Out of the Madness was their second album in 1999. Oteil Burbridge’s (bassist for the Allman Brothers) brother, Kofi Burbridge also joined the band. After numerous guest appearances with The Allman Brothers, Derek Trucks was made an official member in 1999. He frequently tours with them in the summer and at the band’s annual Beacon Theatre performance in New York City.
