The set of letters INXS (pronounced like "In Excess") is a name of an Australian music band. It exists for almost thirty years and continues to enjoy the love of the fans all over the world. The fathers of the group are Michael Hutchence, Andrew Farriss, Tim Farriss, Garry Gary Beers, Kirk Pengilly. Its interesting to know that the abbreviated in excess is often used in chemistry.
Ten years were quite successful as they managed to write several albums (INXS, Underneath the Colours, Shabooh Shoobah, The Swing, Listen Like Thieves). One cant say that then they became that popular to boast of high sales of their concert tickets, but at least people noticed them for their remarkable music. Their work was a mixture of dance, new wave and rock style. The band's popularity came in 1987 when they released their new album called Kick. It contained such wonderful singles as "New Sensation", "Never Tear Us Apart", "Devil Inside", and "Need You Tonight".
Five years later they made an experiment having released a new album Welcome to Wherever You Are. The songs did not sound very convincing and were a bit green. They received much critics but nevertheless the album became number one non only in Australia , but in the United Kingdom as well. The tickets were difficult to find. Unfortunately they didnt have the same success in the United States, probably because their recording company did not do enough to advertise the band.
In 1993 the band presented their new album Full Moon, Dirty Hearts. In 1994 they released the Geatest hits compilation.
In their homeland, Australia, they remained really popular and their fans were always waiting for their idols to make a concert to line up for tickets and to take a photograph of the stars.
The 22nd of November of 1997 was a day of grief. Hutchence was found in a hotel room, dead. Some people say it was a suicide, others believe that it was a mere accident. For the next three years the group was without their leading member. And only in 2000 came Jon Stevens to sing in INXS. Oficially he became the band member only two years later, in 2002. But to the sorrow of the fans who had had enough time to love a new member Jon Stevens decided to leave INXS and to make a sole career.
Only in 2005 the bands fans heard their next album titled Switch. In fact it was the 1st album in the last 8 years! It was really interesting: the sound, the arrangement and the vocal. Those who bought the tickets for the concerts they arranged enjoyed an extraordinary show.
Among their studio albums the most popular were Listen Like Thieves, Kick, Welcome to Wherever You Are, Elegantly Wasted and Switch. If you are not indifferent to the music of INXS and if you are one of those who thinks that they are really worth of your love and respect, purchase the tickets for the concerts.
And theres one more reason for doing that: according to The Daily Record the group is going to make their last tour at the beginning of 2007. So dont miss the opportunity and buy the tickets to please yourself and your friends!
