Kings of Leon Set to Return to America in 2013
Back in October of 2011, on the heels of releasing their fifth studio album, “Come Around Sundown,” Kings of Leon decided to cancel the remainder of their world tour and go on hiatus. Then, it was said that the hiatus would be only six months, but 15 months later we finally have news that the Grammy Award winning rockers are coming back to play live in America. The Followill Clan was recently named as performers at the 2013 Governor’s Ball Music Festival in New York City from June 5th to the 7th. The festival is set to take place at Randall's Island, and tickets for the show are set to go on sale this Friday, January 25th at 12 p.m. EST.
There’s no official word of who the three headliners for the event will be, but it’s very likely that Kings of Leon and hip hop superstar Kanye West will fill two of the three spots. If so, this would be the first headlining gig in for the boys in the Big Apple since 2010. The Ball will be a three-day-festival for the first time ever, and so far many incredible acts are on the bill, including Bloc Party, Pretty Lights, Nas, The xx, Monsters Of Men, and Kendrick Lamar. Make sure to claim your 2013 Kings of Leon tickets now to see them live, and don’t forget to claim your 2013 Governor’s Ball tickets as well.
Kings of Leon Hit the Studio in 2012
Evident in their rousing performance on Saturday Night Live, Kings of Leon are one of music’s most enthralling live rock groups. Caleb, Nathan, Matthew, and Jared Followill in the past few years have gone from an up-and-coming indie rock outfit to one of the biggest concert draws on the planet. On the heels of their Come Around Sundown World Tour, the band has taken a break from the road. However, supporters of the Nashville-founded foursome have their fingers crossed that 2012 Kings of Leon tickets will become available at some point this year. The band has purchased a studio and is in the process of recording their sixth studio album. With new music in the works, it’s safe to assume that new KOL tour dates are not too far off in the horizon.
