True to their roots, West Coast band Los Lobos stand at the forefront of a brand of music that celebrates the multiculturalism of their home in the southwest. The quintet draws its influence from American rock, blues, and country, but also pulls from traditional genres of their Latin American heritage. The resulting American-Chicano rock blend has defined the group’s direction since the mid-1970s. With three GRAMMY Awards under their belts, Los Lobos continue to produce universally praised records in their own unique style. Don’t miss this unforgettable display of stylistic fusion when the latest Los Lobos tour swings through town.
Adored by fans and critics alike, Los Lobos made a name for itself by uniting the music of its Mexican heritage with contemporary folk, rock, and blues styles. Over the past 30 years, the group has released over 15 full-length albums and continues to experiment at live shows with fresh, new jam sessions. In the early weeks of June, the group will jet over to Europe to play a handful of shows with Neil Young and Crazy Horse, but the quintet returns to the U.S. on June 20 to perform at the Fox Theatre in Detroit with Los Lonely Boys and Alejandro Escovedo. As they travel through June, Los Lobos will continue to appear with Los Lonely Boys at select shows, including a June 27 set at the Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, Ill., and a stop at the Greeley Independence Stampede on June 30 in Greeley, Colo. Los Lobos tickets for all upcoming events are available now at Vivid Seats.
In true summer tradition, Los Lobos will also join the lineups of quite a few music festivals along their route, including stops at Eric Clapton’s 2013 Crossroads Guitar Festival at Madison Square Garden (April 12-13), the Houston International Festival (April 27), and the New Orleans Jazz Festival (May 4). The group will even headline their own Cinco De Mayo Festival on May 5 at the Greek Theatre in their hometown of Los Angeles.
