Incredible Summer Plans for 2012 Metallica Tour
Metallica has always gone bigger and better than the rest, and this summer is going to be an extraordinary summer for the Four Horsemen. In addition to hosting their own festival, the Orion Music + More weekend, which is going down on June 23 and 24 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, America’s reigning heavy metal kings are set to tour Mexico, where they'll unveil a mammoth 140x50-foot stage that will feature visual elements from their 30-year career. Afterward, they’ll start filming a 3D feature film, so get your 2012 Metallica tickets now and witness this incredible summer of metal for live and be a part of cinema history.
The yet-to-be-titled 3D feature film is a self-financed project that’s said to be mix of concert footage and a narrative that will star Metallica’s James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujullo, and many of their die-hard fans. They’ve tapped director Nimrod Antal, who directed Predators and Vacancy, and producer Charlotte Huggins, who worked on ‘Journey to the Center of the Earth’ and ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island,’ to make the film explode on screen. The first taping of the film will be their Aug. 24 concert at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, B.C., with plans of a summer 2013 release.
