Hailing From Australia, the Sick Puppies were formed by Shimon Moore and Emma Anzai while still in high school in 1997. Chris Mileski was soon added on drums to round out the sound. Their debut album was released in 1000 with the hit single “Nothing Really Matters.” This single is what started attracting people to their sound. This album was also said to have a really humorous version of Destiny's Child's hit “Say My Name.” Because of lawsuit issues, they couldn't include it on the album. more
They do perform the song live every now and then though. Another song that gave them great exposure in the public eye was “All The Same.” This was all done on the Virgin label.
In 2006, they released a digital version of “All The Same.” Because it is used with some YouTube videos, the song was heard over the Internet every day and attention for the band was growing. This garnered a lot of airplay time for their music. The song did top the charts at number eight. “All The Same” also has its own video as well as being the theme for Juan Mann's Campaign on Free Hugs. Along this same time, Chris decided to leave the band, and they hired Mark Goodwin as their new drummer.
In 2007, the group brought us their second offering. This album “Dressed Up As Life” debuted in the number four position on the chart. They included a remake of the Smashing Pumpkins “Cherub Rock” on this album. And for the holidays of 2007, the band decided to write their own Christmas carol. “Killing Myself for Christmas” was the end result of that session. They released it on their MySpace page on the Internet. They currently reside in Los Angeles. They just digitally released another tune to the public -“Headphone Injuries” from the album My World. less
