Stone Temple Pilots is a popular rock band that originated in San Diego, California. The band comprises Scott Weiland, Robert and Dean DeLeo, and Eric Kretz. The band performed together from the year 1987. They broke up in 2003 to reunite again in 2008. The team took on its present name in 1992 when it signed with the Atlantic records.
The band debuted with the album, "Core". The album included several big hits including "Sex Type Thing," "Plush," and "Creep. The track "Plush" brought the Grammy for best hard rock performance in 1994. more
The second album of the band "Purple" was released in 1994. It climbed the #1 position when it was released. The album had several hits including 'Interstate Love Song', 'Vasoline' and 'Big Empty'. In 1996 the band released their third album titled ?Tiny Music... Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop". The album reached #4 in the US charts.
In 1999 the band released "No.4" which has such hit tracks as the "Down", "No Way Out", and "Sour girl". The fifth album of the band titled ?Shangri-La Dee Da" was released in 2001. The last album of the band was released in 2003 titled "Thank you". The band is now performing on concerts and live shows across the country. less
