Widespread Tesla Tour to Reach U.S. in April 2013
Never seeming to tire of the open road, northern California-based heavy metal band Tesla recently confirmed plans to continue touring throughout 2013. At the conclusion of international dates, the Tesla tour will begin a run of U.S. shows beginning on April 19 at the Gothic Theatre in Englewood, Colo. Cashing in on their long-term success, the seasoned rockers are scheduled to check in at several casino stops along the way, including Albuquerque’s Route 66 Casino on April 20, before moving onto “The Biggest Little City in the World” for a concert at Reno’s Silver Legacy Casino on May 4. Later in the summer, fans will find Tesla sharing a stage at the Great Jones County Fair in Monticello, Iowa, on July 19 with Motley Crüe. Additionally cities set to host Tesla tour dates include San Francisco, Boise, and Chicago, just to name a few.
Back in 2011, Tesla released Twisted Wires & the Acoustic Sessions— a compilation of new, rerecorded, and acoustic tracks. As a group, no new album has been announced for the near future, but several of the members currently pursue smaller side projects when not on tour. For the upcoming performances, Tesla will boast its original 1984 lineup, with the exception of guitarist Dave Rude, who replaced original member Tommy Skeoch in 2006.
