Tom Jones: It's Not Unusual to Love Him

Tom Jones, donned in tight pants and a billowing shirts bursting with dark brown chest hair, has become known for his hit “It’s Not Unusual” and “She’s A Lady”. He had a hard time getting signed to a record label because many thought he was too sexual for the early 1960’s England. Many compared him to Elvis. His second single and first hit “It’s Not Unusual” was released in 1965 and earned him a record deal and a Grammy for “Best New Artist”. He continued to release hits and then started hitting the Las Vegas show circuit where he eventually met and became good friends with Elvis. He focused less on recording and more on his elaborate performances. Pretty soon his shows became known for having women throw their underwear and hotel room keys on the stage. Tom Jones has released a total of 27 studio albums and has had 60 chart topping singles. Through the years he has fallen off the pop charts (of course no one wants to see Tom Jones in a pop-punk band) but he is planning on making a comeback November 2008 with the release of an album entitled 24 Hours through S-Curve Records.
