About The Yeah Yeah Yeah's
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs can be described in many different ways but the best description would be eccentric. Made up of members Karen O on vocals, Nick Zinner on guitar and Brian Chase on Drums and later joining the trio for touring purposes, Imaad Wasif on 2nd guitar, this band has musical styles spanning from retro and heavy rock/punk to synthetic sounds screeching vocals as well as erratic and bluesy vocals.
The band was formed in 2000 and played many small venues throughout the nation. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs debut release is their self-titled EP that hit the shelves in 2001. Soon after they released a follow-up EP, Machine in 2002. In 2003 the Yeah Yeah Yeahs released their very first full length album titled Fever to Tell which sold over 750, 000 copies worldwide. The hit single from this album was the song Maps which received great feedback and received a large amount of airplay.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs most recent accomplishment was their second full-length album Show Your Bones that was released in March of 2006. A spring tour with Sonic Youth followed which has received great reviews. Yeah Yeah Yeahs concerts have been described by fans as one of the most interesting live acts I have seen yet. Karen O never fails to give the crowd the show they want with her undying energy and intense stage presence.
