American fans of the quintessential prog rock band Yes were happy to see the band return stateside this past summer. Original members Chris Squire, Steve White, and Alan White joined with world-class musicians Benoit David and Oliver Wakeman two years ago to form a new incarnation of Yes. While the band’s loyal fan base awaits the release of future Yes tour dates, they will be able to enjoy the group’s new DVD: Yes Union Live. Previously unreleased in the United States, Yes Union Live captures the band in peak form in 1991 in Mountain View, California. more
The concert film includes intrepid renditions of Yes masterpieces “Heart of the Sunrise”, “Owner of a Lonely Heart”, and “Awaken”. Yes Union Live does include appearances by former band members Rick Wakeman, Tony Kaye, Bill Bruford, and Jon Anderson. In other Yes news, there has been talk of the band recording a new album with its present line-up. Yes fans are hoping a corresponding tour will accompany the release of the band’s 21st studio album.
