Young Jeezy released his first album,
Thuggin’ Under the Influence (T.U.I.) in 2001 independently. It was released under the name Lil J and had artists such as Lil Jon, Kinky B and Fidank. In 2003 he released
Come Ship Wit’ Me which led to a Bad Boy Records contract in 2004 with the Boyz n da Hood rap group. Jeezy also had a solo album out with Def Jam Records entitled
Lets Get It: Thug Motivation 101 released in 2005. His second album,
The Inspiration, was released in 2006.
