Camping World 300 is a 300-mile sports car race, which is considered the most important and popular racing event in National racing calendar. In 1959, Camping World 300 was known as Modified Sportsman Race. The drivers had to cover a distance of 200 miles. This race was part of the modified division and was shifted to NASCAR Late Model Sportsman Division. After several changes in its format, structure and name, it acquired its present state.
