2008 Dover 200 Race InformationThe Dover 200, due to take place on the 31st of May, at the Dover International Speedway, is all set to cut through all the flam that has surrounded the NASCAR series of late. We have all seen drivers who sure talk a lot but when it comes to real class driving, they often leave us behind coughing up all the smoke for nothing. Unlike most of the other races in the world, Dover 200 has never failed to excite the crowd, though the drivers in the races may not agree to our description of the word here. There have been numerous close calls on the Dover international speedway and with the crowds going ‘ahhhh’ and holding their breath, every now and then, their wishes come true as a crash takes place. The Dover international speedway is located in Delaware and hence the name. It is exactly one Mile long which means that it is neither a super speedway nor a short track, with the track itself being in concrete, whereas most of the other NASCAR series tracks all being in asphalt. This means that the going would indeed be tough for the drivers as they all seek to manage the 200 odd turns or so. The Sprint 500 were once held here at this track but with the recent ruling that only tracks that were more than a mile can hold such races, this track now plays host to the Dover 200 predominantly. With the front stretch extending for over 1.076 feet and being oval in shape with banks at 24 degrees at the turns, this track seemingly deserves the term ‘the monster mile’. To watch all the latest action here at Delaware, better reserve your seats in advance through the services of vividseats.com as there is bound to be a rush.
